On the Road Experience

Road trips have always been fun. Getting away from the routine, always on the move, and covering territory never visited before. Highways, in some cases, go for thousands of miles and many times the possibilities are endless. You start out in your home state and before you know it, the sign for the next state passes outside the window. There is, of course, construction down the road, with all sorts of plastic barriers showing you which lanes to stay out of. Up until this point, the drive was going smoothly, but this slows down the pace. Construction is necessary – but definitely puts a damper on the road experience.
As you get farther and farther away, the scenery that AAA promised would be seen is blocked by jersey barricades, but these soon pass before it is too late. Sure, a couple of scenic vistas were blocked, but there are more to come. Industrial improvements are everywhere.
You are in the mountains. There are quite a few things on the road to admire. Hopefully your favorite food chain will appear just as you are most hungry. If the traffic safety equipment doesn’t inspire you to press on, then maybe a humorous billboard will, or the nearest museum or historic landmark. Construction is a necessary evil to make future road experiences pleasurable.
